Day +291 : Fish head meehon reduces heatiness (下火)?

I am fine today.

Apart from the birthday cake, we also served fish head meehon after the cell group meeting. It was prepared by my wife. She is a good cook :-) Many cell group members said that the fish head meehon was very delicious.

Our pastor dropped by my house to enjoy the meehon. He mentioned in today sermon that he heard a cell group member said to his wife, “Eat another bowl, eat another bowl, this fish head meehon could reduce heatiness (下火).” With this in mind, pastor took two big bowl of it. When he woke up this morning, his hoarse throat symptom was greatly reduced. He had been coughing for the past two weeks which lead to hoarse throat. Therefore, he attributed the improvement of his throat condition to fish head meehon :-)

This is the first time I heard that fish head meehon could reduce heatiness, and I really would not know if it works as claimed. He mentioned the above experience while he was preaching something about cordiality (亲切感). So it may be the cordiality that counts. I don’t know the effectiveness of fish head meehon in reducing heatiness, but I do believe that cordiality could reduce angriness, a form of emotional heatiness. So next time, if someone especially your spouse or family members 'caught fire', don't set yourself on 'fire" too, try to neutralize their heatiness with cordiality :-)

Cell group members busy eating meehon.
See you next post :-)
