Day +2309 : Completed the General Epistles Exam

I am fine today.

I completed the General Epistles Exam this morning. The exam consists of 30 objective and true-false questions that one can finish in 10 minutes. The real challenge, however, is to write two essays in the three hours exam. The questions of the essay was given one week earlier.

I spent most of the time yesterday prepare for the essays, and I fully utilized the three hours given today, writing five pages of answer :-) As the answers were very subjective, I would not know if the lecturer buy the idea that was presented. Anyway, I have tried my best :-)

There is one more exam to go - the subject of biblical hermeneutics (释经学). The scope for this exam is limited as we were given about 20 pages of text to read. It is mainly on the terms and definitions relevant to hermeneutics.

The questions is true-false and matching type :-)

Day +2308 : Completed System Theology Exam, and the struggle continue

I am fine today.

I studied until 11:30pm last night and waked up 3:45am today to continue my revision :-( The exam was held 9am. We were required to answer two short questions, two medium questions and one long question. The questions that I spotted and memorized quite well didn't come out in the long questions :-( Fortunately, there was another long question that I can answer, though not very well.

It is a great relief to have this paper. Now I have to prepare for the General Epistles exam tomorrow.

Day +2307 : Entering exam week!

I am fine today.

I came back to the seminary early morning today to prepare for the Systematic Theology III exam that will be held tomorrow morning. I just completed the book review assignment about 1:30am this morning. I have one day to prepare for the exam.

Systematic Theology exam is one of the most difficult one as we have to memorize a lot of facts. I hope I can focus on my revision today so that I can at least answer some of the questions, if not all, tomorrow.

See you next post :-)

There were two pastors from Hong Kong visiting us today - Rev. Stephen Kwok preached in our church in Puchong while Rev C.M. Kwok preached in Setia Alam :-) We had lunch together at Restaurant Kong Sai (广西仔菜园鸡猪肚汤) after the church service.

Day +2305 : Homemade Pizza

I am fine today.

Daniel made Pizza for his cell group today. Many said that the pizzas were delicious :-) This is the second time he made pizza. The first attempt was on last Saturday. He made a mistake by doubling the amount of water while making the dough and this mistake was corrected by wife only after a long and tedious work :-(

The pizza making today was smooth and success, and I should say a big "Congratulation!" to Daniel :-)

Day +2304 : No much progress :-(

I am fine today.

The study week is coming to an end, but not much progress I made since Tuesday. I completed a book report for the subject on Hermeneutics (释经学). It report is based on a 500 pages book called Grasping God's word: a hands-one approach to reading, interpreting and applying the Bible(抓准神的话:阅读、诠释和应用圣经的实用指南). The book provides a step by step approach to interpreting the Bible. It is a very good book.

Ι started to read the book early in the morning, and I wrote the report while I was reading the book. I completed about 3600 words, which covered almost all aspects of the book :-)

I have two assignments to complete after finishing this book report - a paper for Systematic Theology III and a Biblical Word Study for Hermeneutics. I planned to start searching material for these two assignments yesterday but I didn't make much progress as I faced difficulty in choosing a topic for these two assignments. I wasted almost the whole day looking for suitable topics to write and not until the evening, I finally decided to write a review for a book called Keep In Step With The Spirit written by J.I. Parker. This is for the subject of Systematic Theology III, and the deadline for submission is next Thursday. Since I have to sit for final exams from Tuesday to Thursday, I have to complete this assignment as soon as possible.

The length the review should be in between 3000 to 6000 words, but the book is not easy to read, and worse still, we need to put forward some criticisms in the review. This means that I have to really understand the content of the book. I have to complete reading the book today, and start to write the review tomorrow.

I decided to put the Bible Word Study on hold as it can be submitted after the exam week.

Day +2303 : The World's Best Low- Cost Airline

I am fine today.

My brother Richard is doing sales. Therefore he has to travel a lot and one of the airlines that he uses most is AirAsia but the service of this low cost airline is deteriorating. He would like to share with you his "exciting" experience with the airline.

--------------------------------------------------

AirAsia has now stop all customer service phone call support for local flight. However, if the flight is under the AirAsia X, then we can call to their customer service with very expensive charges: - RM 1.95 per minute

Of course, customer can get in touch with their support through online chat but I can say that very likely you will end up with frustration. Attach herewith is a real example of the frustration that one has to bear in dealing with the airline.

Chat #1 with AirAsia Customer Care Ms. Selina on the issue of refund of Airport Tax 23th Oct 2012 11:00am
Selina Hello Richard Ting. Welcome to AirAsia Live Chat Service. Kindly be informed that each chat session lasts for 10 minutes. Please keep your questions reasonably brief.
Richard Ting I just want to confirm that the following statement under the refund section is valid? “Please note that this process may take up to 30 working days and will be credited to the original mode of payment for the booking. In the event there is more than 1 guest in the confirmed booking, the refund will be made to the person who made the purchase. No refunds will be made to third parties.”
Selina Hi , please provide the booking number. thanks
Richard Ting Before I can provide the booking number, please answer my first question above; is it the process takes up to 30 working days?
Selina The refund process will take up to 30 - 60 working days.
Richard Ting If 30-60 working days, why you didn't update the refund statement from original 30 days to "30 - 60 working days" so that it will prevent the passenger wasting time to check. Are you agree?
Selina Richard , can you provide your booking number so that I may check the status for you ?
BTW, usually the refund process will take minimum 30 working days.
Richard Ting I am not interest on this because I already request few time and the same answer I got is:- “In the process". I believe your answer is also the same. No point for me to repeat the same thing. However, if you said the processing time is 60 days, then I wait until 60 days a see you are lie again.
SelinaPlease be informed that this chat will automatically disconnect soon. Should you have further enquiries, please come back to us again. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.
You may choose not to provide me the booking number. However, I am asking for the booking number as I would like to check the status with the refund team.
Thank you for your chat. Feel free to contact us again.

Chat #2 with AirAsia Customer Care Ms. Floi on the issue of refund of Airport Tax 23th Oct 2012 11:30am

FloiHello Richard Ting. Welcome to AirAsia Live Chat Service. Kindly be informed that each chat session lasts for 10 minutes. Please keep your questions reasonably brief.
Richard TingI just want to confirm that the following statement under the refund section is valid? “For example: Please note that this process may take up to 30 working days and will be credited to the original mode of payment for the booking. In the event there is more than 1 guest in the confirmed booking, the refund will be made to the person who made the purchase. No refunds will be made to third parties.”
FloiThat means, it takes 30 working days for refund to be applied and the refund will only be refunded to the person who made the payment of the booking.
Richard TingIt is true???? My case already 58 days. Nothing happen.
FloiMay I have the case number please?
Richard TingI already forward many time but the same answer I get is: "Still in the progress". Are you going to tell the same thing?
FloiMay I have the case number please?
Richard TingCAS-2553856-XHT1SQ (S6ELRC) and CAS-2553866-69XQCY(GD3QPX)
FloiThank you, let me check them out. One moment please.
Sorry for the inconvenience of the long wait.
Here is what I am going to do, I will be emailing the relevant department handling your case as we speak to get back to you as soon as possible.
Richard TingTo avoid the misunderstand, may I suggest you to change the refund statement from 30 working days to 60 working days... else it is wasting my time and your time to repeat the stupid thing. Are you agree?
FloiI appreciate your feedback. We are making it 30 working days to speed up the refund process.
Rest assured that the relevant department will get back to your cases as soonest.
May I just have your full name, phone number and email address please?
Richard TingThe amount for refund is small. I may not interested at all. My consultation charges usually is more than RM 200/hours. I spend time on this is to help AirAsia to remain the title of :World's Best Low- Cost Airline".
FloiI understand your frustration regarding the matter, I have been in the same situation before. Sorry for the inconvenience. I am now emailing the respective department as we speak.
Richard TingI hope that will not to see the 30 working days again since AirAsia are not able to deliver as what promised. Just to remind you, bad thing like this never happen in MAS in the past 20 years.
FloiI get your point.
Thank you for your feedback and I will escalate that to the related departments. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Now comes the conclusion: AirAsia manages to offer very cheap air ticket but later you will get the "cheap treatment" also. If the fare difference is not too much say within RM 100 for domestic, we better go for MAS. Paying just a little bit more, you will be treated like a human.

Day +2301 : Completing another subject!

I am fine today.

This week is the study week of the seminary. I came back to the seminary yesterday to complete the last assignment of the subject of Synoptic Gospels. It was about the interpretation of the parable of The Unjust Judge (Luke 18:1~8). With reference material at hand, I completed the assignment in 8 hours, starting from 8:00am to 5:00pm with one hour lunch break. The total words that I wrote was 6000 :-)

I played badminton after completing the assignment and then revised for the final test of Synoptic Gospels at night. The test was held this morning.

I am happy that I have now satisfied all requirement for this subject. However, there are still three assignments and three test ahead, and I hope I can finish at the assignments this week.

Day +2299 : Joan, Aaron, My sister and me :-)

I am fine today.

I mentioned earlier that Hui Na intended to bring Richard's daughter Joan and my son Aaron for photo session after her convocation last Saturday but the plan was canceled due to the delay of the convocation ceremony. Hui Na sent the children back to Richard's after dinner as we were having cell group potluck there.

I took the chance to take some photos of them. Besides, I also took the chance to take a photo with my third sister, Sie Chuo, who donated her bone marrow (stem cell) to me :-)

Joan and Aaron - Aaron was born a day later than Joan :-)
