Day +1264 : A baptism service

I am fine today.

Today, our church conducted a baptism service where we witnessed the most number of people getting baptized in a single service throughout the church history. There were 15 persons baptized into Christ Jesus, proclaiming that they are now His followers.

Each one of them was given 3 minutes to share their encountering with Jesus before the baptism. All of them were very happy and excited.

I was asked to prepare curry chicken for about 100 persons as lunch after the service. I purchased 6.5kg of chicken with 4kg of potatoes. My wife and I cooked the curry chicken at 11pm last night.

However, it was very unfortunate that by the time we had lunch at about 1:00pm, the curry chicken had already turned sour :-( Someone who ate the curry chicken commented that this curry chicken was a little bit special – with sour taste.

We recalled the dish immediately after discovering the problem but quite a lot had already eaten :-( By right, everyone should know that there is no sour curry chicken unless it turns bad.

A church member told us that normally the cooked food won’t last for 12 hours. Should we boiled it before, it won't turned sour. This is a lesson learned today.

Day +1263 : A new member of the family

I am fine today.

A new baby? No, no. It is a puppy :-) A first ever puppy that we have outside the kampong.

Someone gave a female dog Golden Retriever to my sister. The dog gave birth to 6 puppies with their father an unknown local dog.

My sister gave a male puppy to us last Thursday. The children especially Aaron and Adriel like him very much. So we named him Alvin :-)

Alvin is very lonely. He likes to come in to the house and if we reject him, he will cry outside the house. Joseph pities him most and would like the puppy be sent back to my sister. However, Aaron and Adriel would not allow us to do so.

We hope that Alvin will get use to the new environment very soon and live a happy life here with us.

Day +1262 : Steam boat buffet with my sister-in-law

I am fine today.

My sister-in-law (my wife’s sister) came to visit us from Miri with two of her children on the 9 December. They will be going back to Miri this coming Sunday.

They brought us very delicious and special frozen pork knuckle from Miri.

We went to Yuen Buffet Steamboat Restaurant for dinner this evening. Yuen’s is still offering the best buffet steamboat so far. The price is RM20.80 per adult and RM8.80 excluding the 5% tax. Drinks are not included but they offer many types of ice cream. We tasted 6 different types of ice cream this evening. :-)

Our first round of food. Forgot to take photos after this as I am too involved in eating :-(
