Day +277: Eternal Assurance (永恒的保障)

I am fine today.

I went to attend Easter Service this morning. Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, which occurred on the third day after his death by crucifixion.

A Pastor from Hong Kong delivered a sermon called “Eternal Assurance”.

Life is weak, short and full of uncertainties. No one would know what would happen to us tomorrow. One who does not have courage to face birth, growing old, sickness and death (生老病死) is unable to live a life of hope. This is because no one can escape from this law of life.

The biggest assurance is to have eternal life, a life where we live forever with our Lord Jesus in heaven. A life as described in Revelation 21:4 in the Bible, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

This assurance gives us courage to face death with eternal hope. Once we have courage to face death, no other challenges in life would be too difficult for us.

The message delivered by the Pastor this morning is very relevant to my experience. I can tell you that, without this eternal assurance, I don’t know how I could go through this challenge of life.

See you next post :-)
