Day +299 : A beautician turns into a doctor?

I am fine today.

My niece went to a beauty centre to treat her acne problem. The beautician there told her that she had tons of health problems: thyroid inflammation, respiratory problem, liver problem, stomach problem and etc. The beautician found out her problem by examining her pulse (把脉). She then persuaded her to sign up for a course of treatment that includes weekly 2-hour session nerve massaging for 10 consecutive weeks. The treatment would cost her RM1,500.00.

She was quite worried to know that she had so much health problem now. In an effort to reduce her worry, I brought her to do a health screening (blood test) early in the morning. The result will be known this coming Thursday.

They are so many people out there try to assume the role of a doctor without going through a proper medical course. They attract people through specious (似是而非) theory. Very often, this put people into unnecessary worry. Now, my niece feels that she had all the problems that the beautician ‘diagnosed’ her.

“Someone might not have the disease initially, but after listening to this type of ‘doctor’, they start to worry and eventually get the disease,’ the doctor who did the health screening told us.

See you next post :-)
