Day +1138 : Dinner at TastyPot BBQ Steamboat Restaurant

I am fine today.

I had a dinner at TastyPot BBQ Steamboat Restaurant with my wife, pastors and some church committee members this evening. This was a farewell dinner for a seminary student, Miss Lee Pui Sze, who almost completed her 6 weeks practical training in our church. Miss Lee will be returning to Hong Kong on the coming Tuesday.

This was a buffet steamboat just like what we have at Yuen Buffet Steamboat Restaurant but with BBQ lamb and seafood. The cost per person is RM23.80 excluding drink. A pot of tea cost additional RM1 per person. So we paid RM24.80 per person.

The restaurant is one of the most popular buffet steamboat restaurants in Sunway. There were many people having dinner here. However, unlike Yuen Buffet Steamboat Restaurant where diners have to queue up for a seat, we didn’t see people queuing up for dinner even though the restaurant was almost full house most of the time.

Yuen Buffet Steamboat Restaurant provides more varieties of foods than TastyPot, and I believe the seafood there is fresher. However, as mentioned earlier, Yuen didn’t serve BBQ foods.

I enjoyed the dinner very much :-) However, my next buffet steamboat dinner will be at Yuen. This is because the BBQ foods at TastyPot didn’t really make much difference to me. So why I need to pay more for something that I didn’t really enjoyed?

But if you haven’t dine at TastyPot before, you should give it a try :-) The address of the restaurant:

9, Jalan PJS 8/18,
Dataran Mentari,

Dear David

I notice that the roasted lambs were cooked at the side of the street and there were cars passing by and parked beside the cooking place.
In my opinion, the food that were cooked during that time might be contaminated. Do you think so ?

Dear Seu Chuong,

Yes, it might be contaminated, but it seems that nobody care :-) Anyway, roasted food itself is contaminated even without the car. Just look at it - many parts turned into charcoal already :-(

Zhi Yong, RM23.80 per person. Add on RM1 for tea.
