Day +750 : No luck this time, let me try again

I am fine today.

I participated in GIMPS (Great Internet Mersenne Prime Search) project since 22nd May, 2008 and was given a task to determine if M42097619 is a Mersenne Prime.

I wrote about the Mersenne Primes and the search of them in the following blog entries.

After two months of almost non-stop computing, it turned out that M42097619 is not a Mersenne Prime :-(

The result (Click to have a larger view) I was given the task to test another number - M41504741 which means 2^41504741. The expected completion date is 3rd, September. The chance of this number a Mersenne Prime is 1 in 343579.
