Day +886 : Two things that I must thank God for

I am fine today.

As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, we played a game after the potluck dinner to remember what great things that God had done for us in this year. The purpose of the game was to allow each of us to show our gratitude toward God.

Each one of us was requested to write down two things that we think we should thank God for; the first one must be written in 5 Chinese word and the second one 4 Chinese word.

As for myself, I have the following two things to thank God for:

  1. 我还活着啊!(I am still alive!)
  2. 以马内利 (Emmanuel)

Emmanuel means God with us. To live with God presence is a great blessing!

After everyone had completed the writing, we sang the following hymn together, substituting the 5-word and 4-word thanksgiving phrases in the hym with what everyone had written. So we were singing a thanksgiving song that was composed by everybody :-)

For example:
感谢神,我还活着啊!感谢神,以马内利,
感谢神,我娶了太太,感谢神,家庭和睦,

I like this hymn very much. It reminds us to show our gratitude to God not only during good times but during bad times as well :-) As Einstein said, God does not play dice, whatever difficulties and turmoil that we experience are never beyond the control of God. In other words, there is no accident in God.

We just need to trust Him completely and His blessing shall never leave us :-)

God bless you!

See you next post :-)

Thanks for reading my blog :-) Let me find if there is an English version of the hymn.

Szu Kiak, I will try the translator to see how good it is.
