I am fine today.
Halellujah! We make history yesterday!
Quote from Wikipedia about the result of the 12th Malaysian General Election:
“The results of this election showed a setback for the Barisan National coalition as the unbroken two-thirds majority in parliament was ended with the opposition parties gaining at least 82 seats (out of 222 seats in parliament). In addition, 5 state legislatures were won by the opposition, compared with only one in the last election. “
No one, including the opposition, ever believes that this could happen; many people described this as political tsunami.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) leader Anwar Ibrahim gave the following comment on election result:
"The people have voted decisively for a new era where the government must be truly inclusive and recognise that all Malaysians, regardless of race, culture or religion are a nation of one," he told a packed press conference at his residence in Kuala Lumpur last night.
"The people have expressed in no uncertain terms that they want accountability, transparency and the rule of law," he said.
"Tomorrow, we start to build a brighter future hand-in-hand, shoulder to shoulder. This is a new dawn for Malaysia," he added.
I see the result as a big step toward realizing a healthier democratic nation.
Malaysia Boleh! God bless Malaysia!
See you next post :-)
