Day +2158 : There is always hope in Christ

I am fine today.

I was informed by Pastor Tan last night that our senior church member Brother Lau Seng Moi (刘成莲弟兄) passed away peacefully after having a dinner with the family members. Brother Lau is 82 years old. He is the most senior member of our church.

Brother Lau knew very well that he would be going back to heaven, and thus he asked his children to incinerate  his body and cast the ashes into the sea. He asked the family to remember him with flowers only.

When I heard that he passed away, I went to visit the family immediately.

"He returned to heaven," is the first thing that his wife told me.

Both Brother Lau and his wife are very sure that heaven is their eternal home. Though it is hard to be separated now, but there is always hope in Christ, that they will meet one day in heaven.

We organized a memorial service for the family this evening. The atmosphere was sad but also full of comfort and hope. There will be two more memorial service scheduled for tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The deceased will be incinerated on Wednesday and the ashes will cast into the sea.

May God grant peace and hope to the deceased family members.

See you next post :-)

Sure, Grace. I will convey your warm regards to her. We attended his incineration ceremony this morning. Rev. Lau and Ps. Tan will join the family tomorrow morning to cast the ashes into the sea.
