I am fine today.
Our church celebrated 11th anniversary last Sunday. We organized a trip to Kuala Selangor as part of the anniversary celebration. There were more than 50 church members joined the trip.
As it trains almost every afternoon, we prayed very hard for good weather. And God listened to our prayer. The weather on the day was extraordinary good :-) A church member told me that she saw a lot more fireflies this time because the weather was good.
We started our journey at 2:00pm from Puchong and reached Kuala Selangor at about 4:00pm. The trip to Kuala Selangor would normally take less than one and half hour. It took us so long to reach there because we stopped here and there along the way; refilling petrol, eating Cempedak etc.
We first visited Bukit Melawati where we saw a light house, cannons, museum and of course, a lot of friendly monkeys. After that, we proceed to Nature Park nearby. However, no one had extra strength to enter the nature park after hearing that it took about at least one hour to round the park. Many of us brought along young children, and we all know that when they are tired, they just simply jumped onto the parents. But when the parents are tired, who can they jump on to?
After visiting the nature park, we went for dinner at Firefly Park Restaurant at the Firefly Park Resort. The food was disappointing; very few and not so delicious. But frankly speaking, we also cannot expect much as we paid RM150 only per table.
After the dinner, we boarded the motor boat at the same place to view fireflies. Since the weather was good, we see quite a lot of fireflies on the mangrove trees along the Kuala Selangor river bank. It was just like we had many natural Christmas trees along the river bank decorated with small flashing bulbs.
Tourists will be able “to listen to the spectacular symphonic harmony of these fireflies while viewing their luminous flashes of light that is truly a magnificent sight to the eyes of the beholder.” This is what is written in the Firefly Park Resort’s brochure.
Someone told me that the population of firefly is declining. We only see half the number of fireflies compared to what one could see ten years ago. So if you would like to experience this natural wonder, be quick!
To be continued and see you next post :-)
See you next post :-)
