Day +1449 : Retreat at Pine Resort KK (2)

I am fine today. Continue from yesterday...

Beginning our journey from KK - a view from the van.
On the way - heading towards Ranau
There are so many Catholic churches on the way. Rev. Lau said that he counted more than 20 last time and each one of them has a signboard exactly the same as the rest except the name of the church.
We stopped at Pekan Nabalu (Nabalu Town) on the way. It is a place for the tourists to purchase souvenirs and fruits. The town is famous for pineapples. We tried one; very sour but it was very juicy with a very strong pineapple taste. I think it is excellent for making into pineapple juice with preserved sour plum added.

The stalls
Pineapples
Bananas - a bunch cost RM7 but when we found some stall selling at RM2 :-(
Other breed of pineapple
Red chili
White chili - have you ever see one?
Rev. Lau and Pastor Tan were wondering how tasty the pineapples would be
We also stopped by Kendasang market just before reaching the resort. Looking at the mountains and valleys with vegetable farms, I only realized for the first time that this is a place like Cameron Highland, producing lots of vegetables. One thing that puzzled us was that the price of vegetable here is lot more expensive than the one in the Philipino Market in KK.

To be continued and see you next post :-)
