Day +985 : Holiday at Tasik Kenyir (1)

I am fine today.

Our flight to Kuala Trengganu was at 7:05am. Since there was no need for us to check in our luggage, we take advantage of the web check-in facility and printed the boarding passes a day earlier. This allowed us to reach the boarding gate as late as 10 to 15 minutes before departure time.

We woke up as early as 5:00am in the morning. After a simple breakfast, we waited for the taxi to come. The taxi arrived at 5:40am, which was 10 minutes late. Even though the journey to LCCT took about 45 minutes only, Richard said that we should leave our home latest by 5:40am as there might be congestion at the departure hall.

However, to make sure that we had enough time to get to the boarding gate, I asked the taxi driver to pick us up at 5:30am, giving a safety allowance of 10 minutes. And having this allowance proved to be a good decision :-)

Coming late was not a big issue due to the safety allowance but the problem was that the taxi driver was very sleepy on the way to airport. He even failed to response when I talked to him and this worried me. In order to keep him alert, I kept talking to him to prevent him falling asleep :-(

Despite the poor punctuality and sleepiness, this taxi driver was still attractive because he didn’t impose surcharge after 5:00am. If you dared to have his service, let me know, I will introduce him to you :-)

The flight was on schedule and we reached Kuala Trengganu Aiport at 8:00am. The taxi fare from the airport to Tasik Kenyir was RM90 and it took about one hour to reach our destination. Given that the distance between the airport and the lake is mere 60km, the charge is considered expensive.

An hour journey brought us to Gawi Jetty of Tasik Kenyir. Even though the weather was cloudy, the quiet environment, fresh air, still lake water, green forest with dense rising water vapor, creating a fantastic scenery with extremely relaxing mood.
