I attended International APICTA Award Ceremony and Gala Dinner together with my nephew, Soon Hui, at KLCC this afternoon.
It is unfortunate that we didn’t win any price despite putting in considerable amount of effort preparing for the competition. The judging process could be very subjective in which the judges might not have domain knowledge in the great solution that we had presented, so it is very difficult to impress them. Both the winner and merit award in the category that we were competing were won by Australian companies. I believe they were way smarter in presenting their solution.
Anyway, the process that we went through and the experience that we gained are very value :-)
The prime minister was scheduled to rush here to give a speech after the 2011 budget session but we left before his arrival.

Soon Hui wearing tuxedo which we spent RM200 to rent each
First time ever I wear tuxedo. I believe this is the most expensive garment that I ever wear (which can cost RM2000 a piece)
Show and speech in the award ceremony
Twin towers view from KLCC
After the award ceremony, we had dinner. This is the menu.
Wondering what is inside the dome?
Appetizers
The vault is open - treasures in the dome but really doesn't suit our taste. Dishes from Cheong Wah Seafood restaurant is much better than this. There were 5 guests only on my table and we were "filled" in a time incredibly short, so we have to leave earlier - even before the arrival of prime minister :-)
See you next post :-)
