My former maid planted a jack fruit tree in front of my about 10 years ago. The tree grew very well and bore a lot of fruits, but we enjoyed a few only because the insects were always ahead of us, causing the fruits rotten. The falling leaves disturbed my neighbour and the of tree root broke the water pipe.
Though I like the tree very much, I had no choice but to request the city council to remove the tree. The council's contractor cut down the tree today. The service was free of charge.
We always feel that something is missing without the tree. I think we need some time to adapt to the new "environment" - one without a jack fruit tree.
