Day +2905 : Happy Birthday, Daniel!

I am fine today.

We celebrated Daniel's 17th birthday this evening. I attended a cell group meeting in Setia Christian Alliance Church before the celebration. The children waited for me at home. I purchased a birthday cake for Daniel in the afternoon and on the way back from Setia Alam, I dropped by Domino's Pizzas in Puchong Jaya to purchase pizzas for celebration.

It was a simple celebration. We had a worship and prayer session before that. I told the children when I was diagnosed with Leukaemia, Daniel was studying primary three (nine years old), and now he is preparing for SPM exam. The rest of the children were very interested to know how old were they at that time. We told Aaron that he was still not born yet :-)

It is by God abundant grace that I live to celebrate more than 30 birthdays of my family members after I was diagnosed with Leukaemia :-)

Day +2844 : Happy Birthday Aaron!

I am fine today.

We celebrated Aaron eighth birthday this evening. Time passes very fast. He was 5 months in my wife's womb when I was diagnosed with Leukaemia, and now he is 8 years old. That means that I lived for another 8 years after that :-) I praise God for his faithfulness!

Aaron celebrated his birthday twice today, one in the church this morning and another one this evening with the family members and some friends. May God bless Aaron abundantly!

Day +2836 : No! No! It becomes Parent's Project

I am fine today.

My wife has been very busy recently doing Integrated Living Skills (Kemahiran Hidup) projects for the children. The teacher didn't teach properly. So the children don't know how to do the project at all. Parent has to come to the rescue. I believe this is a very common scenario - most of the Integrated Living Skills projects are done by parents instead of students :-(

A better and more practical approach to deal with the Integrated Living Skills is to ask the students to do housework at home such as cooking and cleaning. With this, the children will gain practical experience and at the same time reduce the burden of the parents :-)

Day +2835 : Buy Potato!

I am fine today.

Adriel asked me to buy potato. She needed it to complete her art project. I told her I might forgot. She created a reminder for me as follow :-)

Day +2824 : Joseph was having pneumonia

I am fine today.

I would like to update the condition of Joseph here. His fever never cease throughout the leadership retreat, and on many occasions, his body temperature elevated to 39.5 °C. However, the temperature dropped after taking paracetamol. Apart from the fever, he also experienced heavy cough. This lead me to suspect that he might be having lung infection.

I brought him to ColumbiaAsia Puchong for examination on Tuesday, after we came back from the retreat. The x-ray confirmed that he had pneumonia whereby one side of his lung was infected. He was warded three nights for intravenous antibiotic.

The fever and cough subsided after the antibiotic treatment. He is now on oral antibiotic. He will have to go for a follow-up on the second week of April.

We pray that, by grace of God, he will be completely healed by then.

Day +2815 : A Dengue Screening for Joseph

I am fine today.

Joseph is still having fever this morning. I brought him to Columbia Asia Puchong for a Dengue screening and I am relieved to find out that the result is negative :-) We waited one hour only for the result. It is considered very fast compared to government hospital but it cost me RM218.

Doctor told me that some viruses need more time to "cool down". As we are going for a church leadership retreat tomorrow, I hope Joseph will be strong enough to join us.

Day +2811 : One by one down with flu

I am fine today.

Aaron started to have flu last week and then followed by Adriel. While Aaron recovered and went to school , Adriel rest at home on Monday and today. It looks like she is still unfit to go to school.

I am the third who joins the crowd, having heavy cough, flu and fever. I went to see my family doctor this evening and hopefully, with the medicine, the symptoms will subsided very soon.

Joseph told me he is not feeling well just now :-( I am not sure how long this flu season will last.

Day +2809 : Daniel made pizzas again!

I am fine today.

Daniel is good at making pizza including the dough. The children like his pizzas very much. He made pizzas again yesterday morning and brought a few to the church as dessert for the teenager cell group. Pastor Tan and his wife, Amy, got a chance to eat the pizza. They told me that the pizza tasted very nice :-)

Day +2783 : A breakfast with Aaron

I am fine today.

My wife and Adriel went to school very early in the morning to attend co-curriculum activities last Saturday. Aaron who used to wake up very late every day also woke up very early. He helped me to do some housework and then followed me to the market. I "rewarded" him with a toy and also brought him for a breakfast at Wantan Noodle at Fong Lei Restaurant (丰利茶餐室) in Pusat Bandar Puchong. This was one of the very are occasions where I had a meal with Aaron alone.

Aaron was very happy :-)

We share this Wantan Noodles - L size cost RM5.80

Day +2661 : Aaron and Old Town

I am fine today.

When Aaron heard that I brought Daniel and Joseph to do revision at Old Town, he requested me to bring him there as well. Adriel attends a violin lesson at a music school at Kinrara every Monday. Whenever I send her for lesson, I would have breakfast in a Old Town restaurant nearby while waiting for her. Last Monday, Aaron's school was having holiday. So I brought him and my wife along for breakfast while Adriel was attending the lesson.

Aaron selected his choice of breakfast, finished it and then asked me to go home even before Adriel finished her lesson. He promised to do some revision at Old Town but after having the breakfast, he forgot about the revision completely :-(

Day +2652 : Feeling good do you no good

I am fine today.

Daniel and Joseph don't bother to do revision at all, even during the exam season. I am trying to "fix the problem."

They like to get online and play computer games. I came out with a deal to allow them to gain computer access time. The deal is that they have to spend at least two hours a day to do their mathematics exercises for at least one week, and they are successful, I will configure the parental software on the computer to give them a default of one hour computer access time. If they can achieve four revision hours per day, I will give them 2 hours computer time.

Joseph is attending afternoon class. He wakes up very late everyday. In order to achieve the two hours revision hours per day, I asked him to wake up at 9:00 a.m. He did wake up on Monday but he was not happy to do that.

He complained to me that he was not feeling good waking up so early.

"Feeling good do you no good," was my answer. Adriel and Aaron laughed when they heard this.

"Feeling no good do you good." I hope Joseph will understand this and try his best to maintain at least two revision hours per day.

Day +2592 : Happy birthday Adriel!

I am fine today.

We celebrated Adriel's nine years old birthday this evening. It is a simple celebration with her family members and her friends living in the same residential area.

Instead of buying her toy this time, my wife and I brought her to Tesco yesterday to choose a dress as her birthday gift. She made a very quick decision based on the promotion brochure. The dress that she wore in the birthday party was the one :-)

May God bless Adriel!
