I am fine today.
AirAsia collected RM91 million from 660,000 passengers due to Excess Baggage last year. This is certainly a lucrative income for the airline!
Malaysia Airlines says that travelling with AirAsia is more expensive if we consider all the side charges that AirAsia imposed on its passengers. I believe this is quite true.
A passenger needs to pay RM20 for a checked baggage up to 15kg and this price is for online booking. If you don't pre-book online, then you have to pay RM30.
AirAsia is good in squeezing money from its passengers. It would charge even 1kg of excess baggage.
Cheap air tickets, many side charges, one might end up paying more.
AirAsia tells you how it makes money
The cost of checked baggage through online booking. It charged RM5 per baggage initially but charges RM20 now :-(

Besides this, I personally think that Airasia online ticket system tends to prompt or trap users to pay excessive chargers.
A mistake in selecting the "OK" or "CANCEL" button during online booking might end up paying for services that user don't need.
Yes, the insurance for instance. Very misleading.
Last year September, 16 of my family members bought AirAsia Kuching-Macau return tickets for June 8 -14, 2010 at a very low cost,ie about RM200!!!. 3 weeks ago, AirAsia announced the termination of this route effetive from June 1.
They say the refund of the fares will be 1-2 months later.
I am quite disappointed and yet at the same time admire the smart marketing strategy of the company.
They started this route for about 2years. The Sarawak tourist market for this sector was almost exhausted by now. So they decided to close it down. I believe they will reopen this route after a few years later. Why? of course, the pastures wil turn green again. AirAsia: your cancellation make us stay in the "kampung" during this June holidays. We have no more chance to get the cheap airfare for this June again.
What a big disappointment! When we purchased the cheap ticket, we are acquiring the risk at the same time :-(
Not good.. an easy way to avoid it is to get a luggage weighing scale although maybe the airlines should just show a little discretion!
