We planned to start our journey at 1:30pm on Friday but due to some unforeseen circumstances, we managed to leave Puchong at 3:00pm only.
We drove along the LDP (Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong) Highway heading towards Damansara and exit to North South Highway after KDU college, and then heading towards Simpang Pulai which is very near to Ipoh.
It took about one hour from Simpang Pulai to Cameron Highlands. This stretch of journey is no straight road like highway but compared to the Tapah route, it is a lot straighter.
We met a few heavy downpours along the way with very poor visibility. This together with the traffic jam experienced along the LDP highway beginning of the journey, extended the normal three and half hours journey to four hours. It was already 7:00pm when we checked in to the hotel.
The weather there was very cold. It took the water heater at least one hour to heat up the water once it was turned on. We didn't realize this in the beginning and therefore took bath using cold water :-(
We went to strawberry farm, bee farm, cactus farm and tea plantation the next day. On the following day, we went to attend Sunday service at All Souls Church, and then visited a vegetable farm and a rose garden before coming home.
Agriculture flourished in Cameron Highlands and I believe that this is one of the main factors that attracted so many tourists to the place.
We enjoyed the trip very much. The children said that they saw many things for the first time :-)

A scenery just after the heavy downpour along the way from Simpang Pulai to Cameron
First stop at Cameron - 88 Holiday Fun Garden. The products here are very expensive compared to stalls along the road or night and morning markets at Brinchang. For example, this shop is selling 3 sweet corns at RM10 while we can easily get 6 large sweet corns at stalls or markets.

To be continued and see you next post :-)
