Day +1705 : Spiritual Emphasis Week (培灵周)

I am fine today.

I am one week behind my blog! Today is 13 March 2011 and I am playing catch-up game again. This is the life of a student but the challenge of that life is not sufficient to destroy my desire from posting "daily", even sometimes it has to be done many days after.

We were told last week that we had to come back to the seminary on Monday, 7 March (for the sake of description, today is this day)to attend service and pray as the spiritual emphasis week started today. This was a bad news for me because I planned to work on a few assignments today that need to be submitted this week. However, all students including those who stay off campus were compulsory to attend the event, so the choice is not with us, especially for a "good student" like me :-(

The event will last for one week - Monday to Friday. We have to fast for two meals - breakfast and lunch - on the first day only, and for the rest of the week, we just have to attend the chapel services after the class.

We have two guest speakers to speak in the chapel services; Rev. Dr. David Wong and Dr. Yeh Kao Fang. Both are good speakers :-)

Rev. Dr. David Wong preached on Monday and Tuesday
Rev. Dr. Daving Wong is preaching with MBS lecturer Pastor Tan Poh Seng translating.

I broke fast with my classmate in this restaurant at Bukit Rahman Putra on the way back
I only remembered to take photo of the first two dishes because I was too hungry :-( The image of chicken, and the soup with fish and meat ball are left to your imagination :-)

Rev. Dr. David Wong presented a gift to us free of charge. It contains 12 great sermons.

Day +1704 :Fruits from New Zealand

I am fine today.

My sister and my brother-in-law accompanied their son, Timothy, to New Zealand to be enrolled to University of Canterbury. They met the earth quake there but by God grace, they were all fine.

My sister and my brother-in-law came back last Friday and brought to us the following New Zealand fruits for us :-) This is the first time my family member got a chance to eat Avocado and surprisingly, no one of them like the fruit. I ate the fruit firs time while I was having a retreat in Sabah last year, and I like the fruit very much. So all the Avocados are for me :-)

Day +1702 : A talk on depression

I am fine today.

Our church will be organizing a talk on depression on 12 March 2011, Saturday at 8:00pm. We invited a very good consultant psychiatrist, Dr. John Tan, to give the talk.

As depression is getting more and more popular among city dwellers, you are cordially invited to attend the talk to gain some knowledge on this topic.

Day +1700 : Opening of MES Research and Development Office (1)

I am fine today.

Our research and development office at i-City, Shah Alam was officially opened yesterday and I am glad to attend the opening event. It was my first time visiting the office :-)

The office comes with a very nice environment, and the lighting at night at the surrounding area is fascinating.

Day +1699 : Meeting with MBS Alumni Association

I am fine today.

All new students were invited for a lunch with members of Malaysia Bible Seminary (MBS) Alumni Association. The meeting provided a mean for those who graduated from the seminary to assist new students in whatever means they can.

We were divided into smaller group to share and pray after the lunch.
