Our church organised its first Chinese sky lantern making competition this evening - the last evening of the year 2012. Seven teams, with members mostly comprising of church members, joined the competition. There were two main criteria of assessment - the ability to fly and creativity.
In fact, no one in the church ever makes a sky lantern before. Knowing that Ps. Tan is very skillful in making something, we tasked him not only to find out how to make a sky lantern but also to test it out whether it works. Based on the information garnered from the internet including youtube, he managed to make one that fly :-)
The competition started with a briefing from Ps. Tan on how to make a sky lantern. Every managed to come out with their own lantern but not many can fly :-(
Oops! Caught fire! |
We did not release the sky lantern into the air as it is prohibited by Malaysian government |
See you next post :-)
