Day +2489 : BN is no different than a spammer

I am fine today.

I received many sms from BN asking me to vote for BN candidates since 22 April. The sms were sent my Celcom broadband, not my hand phone. I never used broadband number to send sms and make phone call, and how BN got my number is something beyond my comprehension.

Now I have to regard BN as spammer and I have to consider seriously whether a spammer is worth my support.

Day +2488 : High fidelity music other than digital

Ι am fine today.

All the while I have been thinking that we only managed to enjoy high fidelity music on the digital media such as digital compact disc, and there is no way to store high fidelity music before the advent of the digital age. However, I realised only recently that recording industry was using HD Vinyl to record music in high fidelity and unlike digital music, the recording on HD Vinyl is in analog form.

The instrument used to playback music on HD Vinyl is very expensive. Not long ago, I discovered a website sharing tons of HD Vinyl music. The analog music on HD Vinyl is encoded in digital form and shared online :-) The quality of the encoded music is a lot higher than the quality of than those on normal HD compact disc.

I got quite of few of very nice classical recordings and they sound so good :-) If you are interested to know more about the music, do let me know :-)

Day +2486 : Welcome brother Ho

I am fine today.

Brother Ho (何显荣) is a social worker in Hong Kong. He came here this Monday for one month attachment. He will be staying in the church and will be delivering a few talks on relationship and careers.

I had a dinner with him at DG food court on Tuesday with Rev. Lau, Mrs. Lau and Pastor Tan. It is always our intention to let our foreign guest to have a taste on the local delicacies as soon as possible after their arrival :-)

Day +2485 : An international praise and worship session

I am fine today.

Teresa was discharged from hospital this evening. Doctor couldn't find out the cause of the stomachache. So we have to observe if such situation happens in future again. However, the doctor found out her red blood count was very low and she has to undergone blood transfusion. Considering she can do the blood transfusion free of charge in Miri, the doctor advised her to do there.

My seminary held an international praise and worship session yesterday during the chapel service. Representatives from many countries presented praise and worship songs in their respective native languages. I enjoyed the session very much :-)

Day +2484 : Emergency preaching exercise

I am fine today.

Every student who took the subject of Preaching Practicum (讲道演习) has to give an emergency preaching as part of the course requirement. The lecturer will give the Bible verses where the sermon is to be based on one hour before the preaching, and the student has to preach for 15 minutes in the class.

It was my turn yesterday afternoon to preach. The lecturer gave me the Bible verses - 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 - during the lunch time. And with the preaching just one hour ahead, I really didn't have appetite for the lunch though we were served very nice dishes.

I concluded the lunch quickly and rushed back to the room to prepare the sermon. I made some blunder during the preaching exercise but anyway, I was very relief to complete the session :-)

Day +2483 : Teresa was admitted to hospital

I am fine today.

I received an emergency call from Sime Darby Medical Centre (SDMC) Subang Jaya telling that Teresa was admitted due to severe stomachache while on dialysis yesterday afternoon. I rushed to the hospital from the seminary to visit her. She was very weak and had to be admitted for observation and further investigation.

I didn't have class in the afternoon yesterday, therefore I decided to stay at home and only come to the seminary this morning.

We hope that Teresa will again strength very soon and on the other hand, the doctor will be able to find the cause of the sudden stomachache.

Day +2482 : Lunch with Teresa

I am fine today.

My sister-in-law (my wife's sister) came here on Wednesday for an operation to fix a "port" on her arm for hemodialysis. There is blockade on the existing "port" which causes the arm to swell.

We went for lunch at Restoran Bak Ku Teh Klang Yip Weng ( 吧生叶詠肉骨茶) at Bandar Puteri  Puchong after the church service on Sunday.

We also pray that the operation will be a success.

Day +2481 : A saxophone performance

I am fine today.

Daniel gave a saxophone performance at HammerKlavier Music Centre yesterday. He learns saxophone at this centre and he was asked to perform two days earlier. Despite the short notice, he did quite well :-)

It was a duet, and Daniel didn't actually know who is the one performing with him. Everything was arranged by the saxophone teacher.

Day +2480 : Happy birthday Aaron!

I am fine today.

We celebrated Aaron 7th birthday this afternoon. Aaron invited quite a number of his friends for a simple birthday party at home. I purchased three Domino Pizzas and a birthday cake while my wife cooked spaghetti, sausage and French fries.

Aaron was very happy because he received a lot of gifts.

May God bless Aaron!

Day +2479 : Vote wisely, one vote for DAP, one vote for PAS

I am fine today.

"Vote wisely, one vote for DAP, one vote for PAS" is the advertisement that threatens people to vote for BN. It is beyond reasonable doubt that the BN is employing scare tactics.

But unfortunately, at least for BN, peoples are now getting more and more positive and mature that they always tend to interpret things positively. When it comes to this advertisement, the message is ultimately clear to them  - in order for you to vote wisely, you have to cast one vote for DAP, and cast another vote for PAS, regardless the candidates.

Apart from this, whatever messages received are irrelevant.

First message I received today urging me to vote for BN

Day +2478 : First sermon in the seminary chapel service

I am fine today.

Every graduating student is required to preach in the chapel service at least once before graduating and it is my turn to preach today. The topic that I preached was "Imitating the humility of Christ".

This is the first time ever I preached in a chapel service in the seminary. After the preaching, teachers and students were invited to comment on the sermon. Opening the sermon to public comment is something that is newly implemented and I believe this adds a lot more stress to students who are going to preach :-( Anyway, the comment received for my sermon this morning was generally positive :-)
